Steel encasement systems
Our steel encasement systems provide fire protection to structural steel columns, beams and joists.
Passive fire protection is a vital component of any fire safety strategy. It safeguards people’s lives and limits the financial impact of damage to buildings and their contents. Protecting the superstructure from fire is especially important, as the whole building’s stability depends on its integrity being maintained.
We offer steel encasement systems for both a frameless and metal framed structure.
Frameless structural steel encasement systems, where the board linings are fixed to themselves to minimise space intrusion, can be used in buildings before they are fully watertight. This can also help to speed up the project handover.
Metal framed systems, where the board linings are fixed to a specially designed Gypframe metal frame, allow greater flexibility when installing.
Our specifications detail the required lining type and thickness to provide a range of standard structural steel beam, column and joist sizes, with the necessary fire protection level.
Both types of system can be finished with either Thistle Plaster or using tape and joint as required.
