A full range of lightweight partition systems

Close

British Gypsum offers a full range of lightweight partition and walling systems. Standard systems are non-loadbearing and constructed using drylining techniques. British Gypsum metal framed partitions and walls can be used in all types of buildings including private housing, flats and apartments, commercial, institutional, recreational and industrial properties. They cover all applications, from simple space division through to high performance walls designed to meet the most demanding fire resistance, sound insulation, impact and height requirements.

British Gypsum partitions and walls are constructed using lightweight materials, which can give rise to significant savings in structural design compared to masonry alternatives. Big benefits also include the speed of installation and reduction to overall build costs. The 'dry' materials used mean that less time is spent drying out a structure, which also allows for quicker habitation. A full range of solutions is available to meet specific performance specifications. British Gypsum produces plasterboards that are fire resistant, insulate from noise pollution, provide thermal insulation, can be moisture resistant and also impact resistant when required.

GypWall Classic

A highly versatile metal stud partition system.

GypWall Classic is the industry’s original lightweight non-loadbearing drywall partition system, providing cost-effective, multi-purpose solutions suitable for all types of buildings.

  • Wide range of performances achievable through a combination of interchangeable Gyproc plasterboards, Gypframe metal, Thistle finish plasters and Saint-Gobain Isover insulation
  • Optimised acoustic performance for a given footprint through the use of Gypframe AcouStuds
  • Quick to install compared to masonry or timber frame alternatives and allows transformation of building layouts with minimal disruption
  • Non-hygroscopic Gypframe metal framework will not twist, warp or rot
  • Easy accommodation of services within the stud cavity due to pre-cut service holes within the Gypframe metal studs

Is Gyproc FireStrip required

Where included in the detail, Gyproc FireStrip is an essential component in maintaining the fire resistance of a partition.

What is the fire resistance performance of Gyproc plasterboard? Will I achieve 60 minutes fire resistance from 12.5mm Gyproc FireLine? What fire rating does a Board give? What fire rating does FireLine Board offer?

Fire resistance performance is based on complete systems such as a partition, wall, ceiling membrane or floor, therefore plasterboard cannot be considered on their own in terms of fire resistance.

Which partition types provide high acoustic performance with minimum impact to space?

GypWall CLASSIC using Gypframe AcouStuds, GypWall QUIET SF and GypWall STAGGERED are all good options to meet this requirement.
