How do you calculate thermal performance?

Comparing the thermal performance of a building element is normally calculated via the use of U Values. This can be achieved using our online thermal calculation tool

By simply clicking on a series of icons and drop-down menus the tool allows you to quickly and easily select the structural element for your project (e.g. roof, wall or floor), then the construction type (timber, steel or masonry), then finally enter the specific dimensions to calculate the thermal performance of your building element.

You can also use this tool for a condensation risk analysis, using the same criteria as above.

Simply add the project details to finish off and you can save your completed calculations in a dedicated login area. Determining the performance of a complete building will require the use of thermal modelling software such as SAP 2012 or SBEM.
