FAQs
Have British Gypsum products ever contained Asbestos?
British Gypsum have never used asbestos in our board or plaster products.
What is the maximum cantilever of Gypframe MF5 Ceiling Sections?
150mm using a single layer of 12.5mm Gyproc WallBoard.
What is the vapour resistance of Gyproc WallBoard Duplex plasterboard?
Gyproc WallBoard Duplex and Gyproc FireLine Duplex have a water vapour resistance factor (μ) 1400 EN 14190: 2014. Condensation is common where cold meets warm in areas like roof spaces and external walls. The board's vapour control backing stops condensation entering in these areas, preventing it from affecting the structure of the building.
What is the minimum board width stagger?
We recommend to stagger standard sized boards by 600mm vertically and horizontally.
Can Gyproc plasterboard linings be used in swimming pools and commercial showers?
We have specific guidance for using our products in both ceilings and wall lining constructions in these special wet environments where attention to detail around the specification is critical.
What is the sound insulation performance of Gyproc plasterboard?
Gyproc plasterboard does not have stand alone sound insulation performance. However, data can be found in the White Book Specification Selector for its performance as part of a system.
What cavity barriers are available?
We offer a range of cavity barrier systems based on Gyproc Plasterboards or Glasroc F MultiBoard mounted on Gypframe metal or timber framework.
What board is recommended for ceramic tiling?
Generally for domestic applications use Moisture Resistant (MR) grade Gyproc plasterboards and for heavier use applications our Glasroc H TileBacker
What is the thermal conductivity of Gyproc ThermaLine laminates?
Our Gyproc ThermaLine laminates comprise of Gyproc WallBoard (thermal conductivity 0.19 W/mK) and rigid foam insulation (thermal conductivity ranges from 0.02 to 0.04 W/mK depending on type). Therefore we do not quote a composite thermal conductivity value but do quote a composite thermal resistance value (m2 K/W).
