Mechanical Jointing and Finishing

Improve your knowledge and practical skills in using the mechanical jointing tools for walls, internal angles and applying external angles by hand application.

The course will cover

- Health and Safety including safe systems of work and risk assessments

- Gyproc jointing materials and which products can and cannot be used in the mechanical jointing tools

- Mixing powder joint cement to the correct consistency

- Applying external angles by hand.

- Priming the pump before filling the automatic taper

- Filling the auto taper and applying tapes to walls and internal angles

- Boxing process to walls and internal angles

- Basic maintenance and repairs of mechanical taping equipment

- Combining 1st stage hand jointing with joint finishing and mechanical jointing box applications

- Sanding methods both hand and mechanical and grit types for sanding paper used in the sanding process

- Drywall primer and sealer applications on completion of sanded board surfaces

- Repairing damaged plasterboard surfaces

- Tools which can be used to carry out the jointing process
