Frequently asked question

Are timber inserts required to metal stud partitions?

Timber inserts (such as plywood) are installed to provide additional structural loading which is beyond the capability of the Gypframe components, for example when accommodating sinks and grab rails. Our Gypframe Service Support Plate, which carries 18mm plywood within the cavity of the partition, provides a strong background for fixings through the plasterboard lining.
