Our amazing colleagues do their bit to support the NHS

From extreme indoor cycling to gown making & head shaving to support the COVID-19 effort

As people across the UK continue to pull together during the COVID-19 pandemic, many of our colleagues have also been using this time to do extraordinary things to support the NHS. From extreme indoor cycling to coverall gown making to head shaving, our colleagues continue to do their bit to raise much needed funds for the NHS and other important charities.

Senior Estates & Minerals Planner Jen Saunders has raised an amazing £2,850 (and counting!) for our NHS heroes by cycling 240 miles on her indoor turbo trainer bike. She joined a team of 80 other locked-down cyclists who collectively completed the strenuous challenge of cycling enough miles to travel around the world in one day. While Minerals and Estates Manager Jeremy Elvins has got involved in an initiative to make coverall gowns for care homes, GP surgeries, dental practices and community care workers.

British Gypsum - Supporting the NHSIn the absence of a barber, Barrow Logistics Manager Jon Male, has decided to use his unruly beard and hair for a good cause. In June he will shave his entire head and is well on the way to raising £250.

We are proud of our team members, doing their bit to support the NHS and our communities during this challenging time. You are amazing!
