British Gypsum scoops top social media award

British Gypsum is celebrating after picking up a prestigious industry award for its social media campaign.

Giving our audiences useful, valuable content in the online spaces they are using day to day- Sarah Brook, Marketing Director.

The company was presented with the ‘Best B2B Sector Social Media Strategy/Campaign’ at the Social Buzz Awards (27 November 2014) which celebrates individuals and companies at the forefront of digital communications.

As part of its focus on innovation and helping customers build better spaces to live, work and play, British Gypsum aims to change the way it engages with key audiences, from architects to plasterers. As such, three years ago, the company established new social media channels including its Twitter feed (@BritishGypsum) and the In the Mix blog which provides informative, fun and interesting content from British Gypsum and the wider construction industry.

Customers are very much at the heart of our business, from the products we develop, to how our solutions are delivered to stores, and as part of this, it was important that we’re giving our audiences useful, valuable content in the online spaces they are using day to day,” said Sarah Brook, Marketing Director at British Gypsum.

We’ve been overwhelmed by how our customers and the wider public have reacted and engaged with our activity. We have plasterers who send us snaps of their work on site daily, and our support for the #BuildingBritain campaign even got mentioned on the Prime Minister’s Twitter feed.

It’s a great honour to have our work acknowledged on a national scale and by such prestigious judges, but we wouldn’t have got there without the pictures, videos and hilarious stories our customers share with us day-in-day-out.
