Following calculations by British Gypsum’s Technical Team, high performing thermal laminate plasterboard, Gyproc ThermaLine Super, was installed. This provided a substantial upgrade to the thermal performance, with a Thistle Skim finish used throughout for extra durability.
Regular contact and on-site support was crucial throughout the large-scale project. It ensured the best solutions were used correctly in the right areas, and achieved the most efficient performance.
The project resulted in significant energy bill savings for residents, particularly those who had loft insulation, a new condensing boiler and solid wall insulation installed together. Some residents even reported savings in excess of £400 over a 12 month period, with the added benefit of greater thermal comfort.
The work was completed as part of the Government’s Community Energy Saving Programme (CESP), funded by E.ON, to help tackle fuel poverty.
