Gyproc Habito plasterboard helps transform Oxford couple 1930's semi detached home

Thomas & Erika Oliver, Major home renovation project

Turning crumbling walls into a renovation dream for budding renovators

Gyproc Habito plasterboard transforms renovation project and brings the walls back to life

When Thomas and Erika Oliver bought their home in late 2015 they soon unearthed a problem they hadn’t predicted, as Thomas explains: “We started removing the wallpaper throughout the house and discovered that the plaster underneath was old and crumbling. It needed to be taken off. We looked at all the products on the market and decided to use Gyproc Habito plasterboard."

Very quickly into the renovation Thomas and Erika realised the benefits, as Thomas comments: “my experience with normal plasterboard in previous properties drove me a little insane, with things falling off the wall and mistakes not being so forgiving. With normal plasterboard you might knock the wall and it can make a hole or dent difficult to cover up, but with Gyproc Habito plasterboard you just paint it and it looks as good as new.

Like all couples with a young family they fully expect their home to get some pretty heavy damage but have no concerns about their walls.  Equally the couple have really benefited from personalising their walls, Erika couldn’t be happier with the result, she explains: “We’re so happy with the end result. With a young child and another one on the way, we are expecting the walls to take some pretty heavy damage over the next few years. We wanted to put something in the house that would last and look great for a very long time and we certainly have achieved that.
