Introducing the British Gypsum Smoothie of the Year
01 September 2016
We asked and you delivered! Following hundreds of entries, twelve monthly winners and much deliberation from our team of judges, the British Gypsum Smoothie of the Year has been announced.
In July 2015, we launched our British Gypsum Smoothie of the Month competition, which encouraged plasterers from across the UK to share the best examples of their work and gain the recognition they deserve.
Each month, one winner was chosen based on their quality of work, innovative use of products and the variation of materials and techniques used. These monthly winners were added into the annual draw and we can now announce your final winners.
Most Original Use of Plaster
Fullers Plaster was picked as April’s winners thanks to the team’s intricate work around a porthole window. The work impressed our judges so much that the entry has gone on to secure them a win in the Most Original Use of Plaster category.
Most Consistent Plasterer
This category was particularly difficult for judges! The calibre of entries to choose from and the consistency from all entrants made the decision a tough one, but it’s Matt Coleman who has won the title of Most Consistent Plasterer.
Most Aesthetically Pleasing Job
Lincolnshire-based plasterers, Magnetic Plaster, took the monthly crown after impressing our judges in September. Now, thanks to its smooth finish, the team has won the title for the Most Aesthetically Pleasing Job.
British Gypsum Smoothie of the Year
Last, but by no means least, is our overall British Gypsum Smoothie of the Year. After tackling high ceilings, tricky corners and even a spiral staircase, our worthy winner of Smoothie of the Year is EGC Plastering! There was much deliberation among judges, but the final decision was unanimous.
Congratulations to each of our monthly winners: Phil Morton, Ryan Swart, Rob Johnson, Mike Tozer, Josh Kinsley, PWD Plastering, Dylan Griffiths, AG Plastering and Andy McAulay.
And thank you to everyone who sent us images and videos of their work! We know that plasterers are doing great work on a daily basis and we want to continue celebrating your achievements, so keep sending us your pictures on Twitter, Instagram and The Plasterers Forum.
