The Sky's the limit for UK's tallest residential tower
01 July 2015
The go-ahead has been given for what will be the UK’s tallest residential building at South Quay Plaza in London’s Docklands
Designed by architects, Foster + Partners, the slender 220m structure will comprise a 68-storey square tower intersected by a 56-floor twin to make the most of the views of Central London for the luxury flats within.
The building will be topped with a sky garden for occupants to use.
The double-tower will be accompanied by a shorter, 36-storey residential development during phase two of the project, bringing the total number of homes on the site to 888, as well as 188 affordable properties.
Demolition of the buildings currently occupying the site is due to begin in July 2016, with construction work expected to run for five years.
