Life Cycle Assessments

Measuring the environmental footprint of our products and solutions.

As part of our on-going commitment to sustainability we have chosen to use Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) as our main tool for measuring the environmental footprint of our products and solutions.

What is LCA?

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is the reference method for measuring a product’s environmental impact. It measures the impact of various environmental categories; these include fossil fuel depletion, climate change, water extraction and waste disposal across a product’s whole life cycle. An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is produced which communicates the environmental data generated from the LCA.

We currently have a number of EPD’s which are available to download. We also have a dedicated team developing further EPDs. Without any changes to products raw materials, EPDs remain valid for five years.

Why is LCA important?

Our EPDs mean that you can see the measured environmental impact at each stage of our products life from the extraction of raw materials through to the recycling phase at the end of a products life.

This transparent document and accreditation contributes to most building industry environmental labels, including BREEAM and LEED, gaining you points simply by using the products.
