Recognising excellence within the industry

At British Gypsum, we always want to celebrate talent and excellence within the plastering and drylining sector.

That’s why we are continuing to support the annual FIS Training Awards – the premier awards scheme for the sector, a joint initiative between leading sector trade body FIS (Finishes & Interiors Sector) and the Worshipful Company of Plaisterers which recognises the achievements of those working in plastering and interior trades.

The awards cover a range of categories which between them highlight the development of apprentices; high-achieving students; excellence in training delivery; the work of mentors and other in supporting training; and lifetime contributions to the sector.

Independent training providers and colleges will have the opportunity to be nominated for and win the British Gypsum Trophy - a competence award for providers with an independent, work-based assessment unit.

This award is a particularly important one for us, given our commitment to working with partners across the sector to address the skills shortage through fostering the enthusiasm of young tradespeople, equipping them with the skills to help them meet the evolving needs of the construction and housebuilding sectors and develop a long-term, rewarding career.

The work of colleges and other training providers is crucial in that journey

The winners will be announced at the annual Training Awards Lunch which this year takes place at the Plaisterers Hall in London on Tuesday 22nd November.
