Performance Engineer at British Gypsum
I graduated from Loughborough University with a degree in Chemical Engineering in June 2007, and started with British Gypsum and Saint-Gobain in September 2007, working as a customer service advisor. At the time, this was a temporary position covering for some colleagues who were on a project.
On an induction day I met our HR Manager who advised me that British Gypsum employ Chemical Engineers and that she would look into possible
opportunities for me. In July 2008, I joined our manufacturing plant at Sherburn as a Chemical Process Engineer working on projects to improve the plant’s efficiency.
I had three and a half fantastic years there and then in January 2012, I joined the central engineering team working on and supporting new Saint-Gobain manufacturing sites worldwide. I spent time on projects in Brazil, North America and Russia. I did this for two years and gained so much from it, both personally and professionally. I am very grateful for the opportunity that I have had and can honestly say I didn’t anticipate any of this back in 2007 when I joined!
