The School has been redeveloped by the Government initiative called the Primary Capital Programme. This set outs the design criteria for the function and performance of the building in the Primary School sector. The classrooms are designed to have multi-functional capability whilst being inspirational, energy efficient, high performing and fun for the buildings occupants.  This drives the specification into the high end of the education sector performance. The need for the teaching classroom’s to be inspirational for the students and staff was a key driver for the design team. The use of acoustic sound, absorbing ceilings light, airy spaces and good ventilation all added to the excellent interior feel.

Saint-Gobain Gyproc Trophy - Plasterboard

The partitions had to be durable for the life cycle of the building and high in sound performance. The added challenges of designing and installing the partitions with glazed screens and demountable openings were overcome with help from the Saint-Gobain Technical Academy.
