Loadbearing - Timber frame
Timber frame buildings utilise a timber framework to provide
structural support. Typical applications range from private
dwellings though to hotels, nursing homes and community buildings.
The framework is strengthened with plywood or other sheet
materials, which provide the stiffness to withstand lateral loads.
Vapour and moisture control are incorporated and the outer leaf is
constructed to add aesthetic appeal and durability. British Gypsum
products are used extensively to form the internal elements
comprising external wall linings, partitions, separating /
compartment walls and floors, cavity barriers, ceiling linings and
ceiling membranes below roof spaces.
