Scottish Widows HQ

Port Hamilton, Edinburgh

Scottish Windows HQ

Main Focus

The main focus of the project was to provide drylining systems suitable for this magnificent development, which can house 1500 staff within 350,000 square feet of office accommodation.

Challenge

The challenge was, in keeping with the specification team's performance requirements, to provide absolute sound integrity to most areas. In particular, a separating wall was required between the noisy plant room and the main auditorium.

Solution

The solution was to use a GypWall AUDIO twin frame high performance separating wall, lined with 1 layer of 19mm Gyproc Plank and 1 layer of 15mm Gyproc SoundBloc. This solution also incoporated 100mm Isover General Purpose Roll insulation.

This solution, along with other systems specified to meet a complicated mix of aesthetic and practical performance requirements, was extensively tested and approved by the architectural team.
