Post House Hotel

Main Focus

The main focus was to provide a spectacular Reception Area, involving curved walls, as part of the general refurbishment of this THF Hotel, close to Edinburgh Airport. The Reception area is the centrepiece of the hotel.

Challenge

The challenge was that the design for this particular project called for several walls, in close proximity, with varying radii. The walls also run at an offset angle, vertically, between floor and ceiling.

Solution

The solution was to construct the framework, using Gypframe metal studs on plywood formers, lined with 2 x 6mm Glasroc MultiBoard. The boards were hand jointed, using Gyproc Joint Filler and Gyproc Joint Cement, producing a striking and quite unique partition system.
