Main Focus
The main focus of the project was the internal fit out of a
new leisure centre in York, occupying over 20,000 m2 on two
levels.
Challenge
The challenge was to achieve durability and meet other
performance criteria with floor to ceiling partitioning of 8
metres, with a curved surface division wall above the spa in the
main atrium. Additional partitioning was required to delineate
between the various function rooms.
Solution
The solution was to construct the internal walls using the
GypWall CLASSIC stud
partitioning system (146mm 'Jumbo' studs) lined each side with two
layers of 6mm Glasroc MultiBoard, a non combustible, inherently
flexible, glass reinforced gypsum board, which copes easily with
the desired curved effect of this application.
