All new-build and refurbishment of dwellings are required to
conform to Part L of the Building Regulations (Section 6 in
Scotland). This seeks to improve the energy efficiency of all
buildings. For new-build this requires the use of more energy
efficient building products. For existing buildings it means
reducing heat losses by introducing much higher standards of
insulation.

- This revision of Part L brings a
fundamental change to the way in which compliance is
achieved.
