British Gypsum at the National Homebuilding & Renovating Show, stand No. 1310

British Gypsum will be focussing on ‘room-in-the roof’ conversions on stand 1310 at the National Homebuilding & Renovating Show, to be held at the Birmingham NEC, 2-5th March 2006.

Up to one third of the volume of the average home is tucked away under the roof, and can be converted to provide additional valuable living space, without eating away at the garden or outside living area.

British Gypsum’s market leading lightweight metal frame systems are used to line, or create, the walls and ceiling of the loft space, quickly providing the basic shell, and separation, for the additional rooms, ready for decoration. As well as providing the internal structure, the systems also provide the necessary level of fire safety for stair enclosures, and are designed to ensure compliance with the latest Part E and Part L Building Regulations. Using British Gypsum systems therefore, your modern extended home will be quiet and economic to run, as well as being warm and welcoming for the family.

The GypWall RAPID metal stud housing partition, designed specifically to meet the latest acoustic standards for housing, is quick and simple to build, and provides a full 30 minutes fire resistance in addition to meeting the current 40dB acoustic standard. Where old, uninteresting masonry walls need a new face, then the GypLyner wall lining system is the simple answer. Built on a virtually independent metal frame, there is generally no need for background preparation and the system’s variable stand-off accommodates services, if necessary, to leave a clean, uninterrupted wall surface.

Once the system has been selected, there’s a range of standard and high performance Gyproc plasterboards to give different characteristics for different areas. Gyproc Moisture Resistant, for instance, is designed for high moisture producing areas, such as kitchens or bathrooms, whilst Gyproc SoundBloc will give extra sound performance and Gyproc DuraLine is less prone to damage for stairwells and corridors.

British Gypsum systems are covered by the company’s unique SpecSure® lifetime system warranty, so, once installed will perform to your design specification for the life of your building.
