New pocket guide to Part L
British Gypsum has published a pocketsize guide to meeting the
2006 Part L thermal regulations using Gyproc ThermaLine
laminates.
Designed for smaller contractors and general builders working in
both the new-build and refurbishment sectors, the new 1/3 A4 colour
guide outlines the key requirements of the 4 Approved Documents
which make up the new Part L, and provides the user with a range of
solutions for both solid and cavity external walls and flat or
pitched roofs.
Combined solutions that use high performance Gyproc ThermaLine
laminate linings to top-up the performance of traditional cavity
wall or loft insulation to meet or exceed ADL minimum design
U-values, and contribute to the overall SAP 2005 rating, now
provide a popular route for house builders. The new guide details a
number of different cost-effective combinations that can be used
dependant on the performance level required.
The guide also outlines the new requirements for
air-permeability, with recommendations for sealing dry lined
elements to improve air-tightness, and includes details of British
Gypsum products, such as new Gyproc SoundCoat that can be used to
seal masonry backgrounds prior to drylining.
Copies of the new guide are available free by ringing 08705
