New repair product to be launched at Jewson Live

The chance to get a sneak peek at British Gypsum's soon-to-be launched patching product – Thistle Bonding 60.

British Gypsum will once again be exhibiting at Jewson Live, the UK’s biggest trade show for construction industry professionals. At the show, the manufacturer of plaster and plasterboard systems will be giving attendees the chance to get a sneak peek at its soon-to-be launched patching product – Thistle Bonding 60.

Visitors to the show will be among the first people to see British Gypsum’s new Thistle Bonding 60, a fast-setting undercoat plaster that has been specifically developed for patching or renovation work. Thistle Bonding 60 has all the attributes of Thistle Bonding undercoat plaster but with a much shorter setting time of just 60 minutes, meaning it’s ready to finish in 75 minutes. The new product is ideal for patching deep holes or chases, and is available in a 10kg tub or 12.5kg and 25kg bags.

Jewson Live attendees will have the chance to see live demos of the new product from the British Gypsum team, as well as take away samples to try out for themselves.

Gareth Dunn, Innovation Project Manager at British Gypsum, said: “Many tradespeople, from electricians and plumbers, to decorators and plasterers, frequently do small repair work to fill in holes and finish off walls. Often this results in a lot of dead time spent waiting for materials to set, time which could be the difference between completing one or two small repair jobs in a day.

We developed Thistle Bonding 60 in response to this problem, to give tradespeople a dedicated product for these smaller finishing jobs. Not only will this help reduce setting time by as much as two thirds, it will also mean installers don’t have to risk the consistency of their finish by resorting to adding extra ingredients, like dirty water or cement, to mixtures to try and speed up setting times.

In addition to Thistle Bonding 60, British Gypsum will also be exhibiting its recently launched finishing product, Gyproc AquaBead – a high-strength polymer alternative to tradition corner bead. With a metal-free composition, Gyproc AquaBead makes corners safer, easier to cut and quicker to apply than traditional corner bead without compromising on durability.

But British Gypsum isn’t stopping there. The latest product launches, Gyproc EasyFlex Pro, Gyproc Habito and Thistle Magnetic Plaster, will also be showcased on stand IDL14.

Gyproc Habito and Gyproc EasyFlex Pro will also be available to purchase at the event.
