Transforming a spare room
Discover how one customer created a spare room with a difference
When Amanda Webster and her boyfriend moved into their new home 18months ago, she chose to use Thistle Magnetic Plaster to create a welcoming space their family would love to visit. Amanda wanted to use the third bedroom of their terraced property to create a play space for her nieces and nephews, which could also be transformed into a cosy guest bedroom.
“I have a big family and enjoy having them over to the house,” explained Ms. Webster. “I wanted to have a room they could have some fun in and Thistle Magnetic Plaster was the ideal way to create the interactive, flexible space I had in mind.
Transforming the room from a childs haven into a grown up guest room
“What we’ve been able to achieve by using magnetic plaster is just fantastic,” she described. “We now have three magnetic walls painted in a vibrant teal colour, whilst on the fourth wall we’ve used blackboard paint on one of the magnetic walls I’ve applied a brilliant decal in the shape of a family tree - framed family photographs are stuck around the branches of the tree with magnets and the children have great fun moving the photos around. On the other walls we’ve stuck magnetic letters and numbers, which they love too. When we have people to stay overnight, we simply take down the magnets, wipe the chalk off the blackboard wall and, as if by magic, we have a grown-up space to accommodate guests. It’s a truly flexible space - my favorite room in the house.”
