Potton Homes recommends Gyproc Habito to self builders
When self builders Sharron and David Reetham secured planning permission on a piece of land adjacent to their family’s farm, they set about working with Potton to design the home of their dreams.
Building a forever home
Having lived with poor quality walls in their previous home, one thing the Reethams were sure about was the need for superior grade internal walls, walls that were high quality and innovative walls that weren’t flimsy, walls that they could easily hang things on. Having previously lived in a home with thin walls, they were certain they did not want the same in their forever home.
Paul Newman, Self Build Director at Potton recommended Gyproc Habito and Thistle Magnetic Plaster. “We’re keen to keep ahead of what we think our customers want and what the market place might want,” said Paul.
“We’re excited by products like Gyproc Habito and Thistle Magnetic Plaster which make it easy for people to adapt their homes as their needs change over their lifetime.”
The Reetham’s installed a magnetic wall in both the kitchen and above the children’s desk in their bedroom and haven’t looked back. Andy Cross, from Lincs Plastering Services who was the plastering contractor for the Reethams was impressed with both products. Having never used either products before they were so impressed they wished they could have skimmed the whole house with them.
“What we’ve got here is very special,” said Sharron Reetham. “The walls feel really solid and DIY is so easy, we can screw straight into the wall and nothing falls down. The kitchen units went straight onto the wall so easily and all the heavy pictures we’ve put on the walls we’ve hung using nothing special, just screwed straight into the plasterboard. We’ve even hung a huge projector screen from one of the ceilings without any problems.”
