Supporting the development on new regulations and guidance.

The challenges of sustainable construction require support of major product manufacturers in helping to develop regulation and guidance. As a business, we support industry by working with trade bodies such as the Construction Products Association to provide expertise required to develop the regulations and guidance that will support industry in its economic growth targets.

The Plasterboard Sustainability Partnership (PSP)

Originating from a Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) programme to identify the environmental impact of plasterboard throughout its lifecycle, the PSP is made up of the broad range of stakeholders involved in the production, installation and disposal of plasterboard, as well as relevant government departments and regulatory agencies. The PSP exists to give all stakeholders greater awareness and understanding of the role plasterboard plays in construction and sustainability issues throughout the supply chain.

British Gypsum has worked alongside the PSP and other bodies to develop the Plasterboard Sustainability Action Plan, a practical strategy for sustainability available from the DEFRA website at:
